Charter

Charter

A well-written charter establishes clear objectives, definitions, and guidelines, aligning group members and the broader RISC-V Community from the start. It defines purpose, scope, and accountability, preventing confusion and scope creep, and serves as a reference to keep the group focused and efficient.

Introduction

The RISC-V Developer Boards program exemplifies the generosity of RISC-V hardware vendors, who graciously donate their hardware to support various projects aimed at:

  • Enhancing the success of RISC-V member products and services, facilitating operating system distribution support

  • Expanding the adoption of upstream open-source software within the community

  • Developing valuable educational resources

  • Encouraging the integration of emerging technologies utilizing the RISC-V architecture

  • Promoting engagement and goodwill within the software ecosystem.

Participant projects are encouraged to submit a usage plan and document their outcomes with the donated boards, while RISC-V vendor members actively contribute through their own initiatives in coordination with RISC-V International.
